The first bridge type constructed in the state of Massachusetts to utilize a reinforced concrete composite wearing surface design integral with a butted precast concrete deck beam superstructure of which was utilized in the replacement of a structurally deficient existing steel stringer crossing built along a steeply graded town road, Hawley Massachusetts.
