Pleasant Road Bridge over Interstate Route 91 & Sword Avenue Bridge over Interstate Route 91

To execute needed emergency bridge bearing replacement and traffic safety concerns pertaining to the interstate roadway profile an innovative design of a new temporary interim superstructure and underpinning system was completed to simultaneous raise and lift two multi-span 500-ton interstate bridges. Each bridge overpass including interstate 91 needed to remain in service during lifting. All work along each crossing was completed within a one-day period.
